What is the Master Mentor Teacher Certificate?

The Master Mentor Teacher Certificate (MMTC) is a graduate-level certificate program being offered by Project R.E.A.L. The MMTC is designed to prepare experienced teachers to mentor new teachers in instructional strategies, classroom management strategies, and other aspects of daily classroom life, in addition to the policies and procedures specific to individual campuses.

The goals of the MMTC are:

  • Provide mentors with specific strategies to assist new teachers during the first year of teaching.
  • Provide continued support and training for mentors through the development of a mentoring network.
  • Provide mentor teachers professional development opportunities through application of mentor training.
  • Provide field-bases opportunities to mentor new teachers for culturally responsive teaching.
