Margaret A. (Peggie)
Price received her BS in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M
University in 1974 and her MA in History from the University of Texas of
the Permian Basin in 1977. She taught social studies at the secondary
level for 18 years in Texas public schools. Beginning her career in west
Texas, Peggie taught in Kermit, Midland and Odessa, before moving to San
Antonio and later Dallas. In 1994 she retired from public schools to
pursue her Ph.D. in Education at Texas A&M.
Graduating in 1998, Dr.
Price came back to west Texas to join the secondary faculty in the College
of Education at Texas Tech University. Since joining the faculty she has
taught 10 different undergraduate and graduate courses in curriculum,
instruction and research methods. She is a true advocate of
school/university partnerships and works continuously to develop a
Professional Development School network through Texas Tech’s College of
Education.
Dr. Price is co-advisor
(with Dr. Susan Myers) for TSTA-SP, the student education association. She
also serves on several college programs and committees.
